Jennifer Aniston is not one to experiment with beauty; she knows what works for her and she sticks to it. Still, we remain endlessly fascinated by how she keeps her hair so sleek, her skin so youthful and her body in such great shape.
Case in point: The 47-year-old has been named People magazine’s World’s Most Beautiful Woman for 2016, a title she first received in 2004.
In the issue, which hits newsstands May 2, the Friends star revealed that she believes exercise, nutrition, honesty and inner confidence are among the keys to beauty.
These words of wisdom can be added to the long list of practical beauty advice we’ve gleaned from the actress’ many interviews over the years. Here, we look back at some of her best tips to date.

Most beautiful: Jennifer Aniston, 47, has been named People magazine’s World’s Most Beautiful Woman for 2016
Keep it simple.
‘The skincare rule I stand by is simply cleanse, tone, and moisturize,’ the actress, who is an Aveeno spokesperson, told nymag.com in 2013. ‘I also try to exfoliate pretty regularly. My makeup artist…gave me a tube of Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Scrub to use every night. And I’ve been using it ever since. I believe the more simple, natural, and easy the skincare regime, the better off your skin will be.’
Sweat it out.
‘Exercise is absolutely important and I love an infrared sauna a couple of times a week as they’re extremely good for your skin – for cell regeneration, detoxifying and relaxing,’ she told huffingtonpost.co.uk last year.
Your hair needs more love as you get older.
‘Have you discovered the [Living Proof] Restore Mask yet? That’s a game changer. I do it every Sunday because I do highlight my hair. The one thing with hair, as we get older, is it doesn’t necessarily react as beautifully as it used to when we were in our 20s, which I never knew,’ the actress, who co-owns hair care brand Living Proof, explained to Yahoo Beauty in 2014.
Drink more water than you think you need to.
‘I always try to sleep for at least eight hours a night and, of course, water, water, water! I drink 100 ounces of Smartwater every day,’ she revealed to shape.com back in 2013.
She’s still got it: The actress, who first nabbed the People magazine title in 2004, shares her inner and outer beauty secrets in the issue, which hits newsstands on May 2
Keeping it simple: The Friends star has a less is more approach to beauty, sticking with products and looks that she knows work for her
Some of the best skincare treatments are found outside of the beauty aisle.
‘Put Vaseline on your eyes at night – all over. It helps condition your lashes. My mom taught me that,’ she suggested to redbook.com in 2013. ‘And my girlfriend told me years ago that if you wake up with puffy eyes, you can put Preparation H underneath them. It’s amazing.’
Keep your pimples guessing.
‘Mario Badescu has a great drying lotion that I used for years and years. I had a facial there in like 1995 and I’ve been using it ever since. I switch it up though. It’s like switching up your exercise,’ she shared with elle.com in 2015, before adding, ‘I’m a lip balm addict…By Terry Rose Balm in the pot; it’s really gooey for bee stung lips.’
Balance is the best diet.
‘I don’t think crash diets are good. They’re all fads, whether it be the bulletproof coffee, paleo…they’re all versions of the same thing. Cutting out complex carbs is always a good thing, but I think you should always be able to have your pasta now and then, if you want it. If you’re healthy—you work out and you don’t overindulge in sugar or alcohol—you’re great,’ Jennifer told forbes.com last year.
Give your hair a break.
‘If I’m not working I try to give my hair a break for as many days as possible. After the gym, if I have to be somewhere, I usually just throw some heat on it to dry the sweat and then do a little dry shampoo and a little [Living Proof] Night Cap, and I’m fresh as a daisy,’ she told glamour.com earlier this week. ‘I can last a good three or four days without washing my hair, and all of this stuff just kind of keeps it fresh and alive and smelling great.’
Beauty comes from the inside out.
On how she defines beauty, Jennifer said in People’s latest issue, ‘Inner confidence. Peace. Kindness. Honesty. A life well-lived. Taking on challenges and not feeling shame for things that haven’t gone the way you felt they should have. And not feeling like a failure or allowing people to critique your life and make you feel like you’ve failed at something. That’s just toxic noise.’
